Toyota Motor Sales & Marketing (TMSM) will exhibit PES (Peace Eco Smile), an animation film produced in collaboration with Studio4C, at Kyoto's first large-scale manga & anime trade show, the "Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair 2012" (September 21-23, 2012, at Kyoto-shi Kangyo Miyakomesse, Kyoto). TMSM also plans to collaborate with Kyoto, the city representing traditional Japanese culture, aiming at spreading "Japanese Culture" to the world by putting their cutting-edge creations and Kyoto's traditional craftsmanship together.

PES is a story about Pes, an extraterrestrial being who comes to discover the value of Earth and the joy of mobility through his unique alien perspectives. PES episodes are now available on the special PES website (http://www.toytoyota.com/pes/en/).

At the fair, PES episodes will be featured on booth displays. On the other side will be a trick art painting that makes attendees feel PES's complex world of reality and virtual reality. They can also enjoy playing with a PES AR (Augmented Reality) app and cards. TMSM hopes people will enjoy these booth activities and feel a close connection to PES.

PES also is tied up with Kids Cafe and Confectionary -- Le Grand Bleu -- to make original sweets "Kamonasu Cookies" which contain Kyoto's traditional eggplants as an ingredient.

Human evolution is represented by the history of mobility. Cars bring our mobility to life, but yet too often, everyone talks about complicated technological aspects of automobiles rather than just the joy of mobility. TOYOTA has found "TOY" as the origin of lively and cheerful joy from its own corporate name. Then, TOYOTA and STUDIO4C, one of the leading Japanese animation studios, have together created an animation series, PES (Peace Eco Smile), that follows a curious alien exploring the joy of driving and the importance of safety as a part of ToyToyota projects aimed at spreading the joy of mobility.
