FDAから認められ、グルコースから抽出されるアミノ糖であるメグルミンを製造する欧州で唯一の施設である。スペインの施設はメグルミンに限定して生産するもので、賦活剤を継続的に顧客に供給するとともに需要増に対応することを保証する。メグルミンは賦活剤として、溶解度を強化するため有効な医薬品成分と直接相互作用する。従って賦活剤の製造は、同様に厳格な医薬品有効成分（原薬）（API）としての規制上および品質状の必要条件を満たさなくてはならない。

Valles, Spain dedicated to the manufacture of meglumine, an FDA-approved

excipient for pharmaceuticals and a component of medical imaging contrast media.

The facility, validated by the FDA, is the only location in Europe that

manufactures meglumine, an amino sugar derived from glucose.  The facility in

Spain is solely dedicated to the production of meglumine, thereby ensuring

continuity of supply to customers as well as meeting increasing demand for the

excipient. As an excipient, meglumine interacts directly with active

pharmaceutical ingredients to increase solubility. Therefore, the manufacture

of meglumine must meet the same stringent regulatory and quality requirements

as APIs.
