Audio Guidance iBeacon system at the Seiko Museum
Seiko Holdings Corporation (President: Yoshinobu Nakamura, Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Japan, hereinafter referred to as "Seiko") is pleased to announce that the Seiko Museum introduces on August 26th a completely new audio guidance system “Seiko Museum Audio Guidance”in both English and Japanese, not only at the Seiko Museum in Sumida-ku Tokyo, but also at its website.
In 2015, the Seiko Museum has already introduced the iBeacon guidance system without audio, and is now adding the audio guidance to satisfy more visitors including growing number of foreigners.
The bilingual audio guidance will be available at the most outstanding 31 exhibits in total 9 corners.
Together with the renewed video “The Story of Kintaro Hattori” with narration, this audio guidance will provide an essence of the timepieces history and the Seiko history conveniently.
At the Seiko Museum, the signal is dispatched from the iBeacon terminal set at each exhibit, and the visitor can receive automatically the signal to the rental free iPad, and enjoy the audio guide, photo or video of its exhibit just in front of the visitor, wherever the iBeacon terminal is set.
In addition, the visitors can also enjoy this new audio guidance system, easily through their own smart phones, just by downloading ‘Smalisa’ application from either App Store or Google play free of charge.
Besides above, all the explanation boards at the Seiko Museum will be renewed in both English and Japanese, and the maximum number of persons accepted by the reservation through the Internet will be increased up to 20 persons at once, so that Seiko welcomes more group visitors from overseas.

The Seiko museum, located in Sumida-ku, Tokyo is home to a wide range of watches, clocks and other timekeeping devices from the earliest times to the present day.
