LALIGA surpasses 17.5 million spectators

-The recently concluded 2025/26 season recorded the highest attendance figures in history across LALIGA EA SPORTS and LALIGA HYPERMOTION, with nearly 1% more spectators than last season-

MADRID, June 25, 2026 /LALIGA=Kyodo JBN/ -- Spanish professional football has once again demonstrated its ability to attract fans. The 2025/26 season concluded with a new all-time attendance record across LALIGA EA SPORTS and LALIGA HYPERMOTION stadiums, which together welcomed 17,535,164 spectators throughout the campaign.

This figure represents a 0.8% increase compared to the previous season and confirms a sustained growth trend in attendance at LALIGA stadiums. The competition also reached a new all-time high in average attendance per match, with an average of 20,776 spectators, improving by 0.5% on the 2024/25 season.

These results are particularly significant given the context in which they were achieved. Throughout the season, several clubs faced capacity restrictions or temporary relocations due to stadium renovation and modernisation projects. These included venues such as Spotify Camp Nou (FC Barcelona), Coliseum (Getafe CF), ABANCA Balaídos (RC Celta), Ibercaja Stadium (Real Zaragoza) and Estadio Municipal de Anduva (CD Mirandés).

In addition, LALIGA HYPERMOTION featured one reserve team and two clubs newly promoted from Primera RFEF, whose stadiums are among the smallest in the division in terms of capacity. Despite these circumstances, the response from supporters enabled Spanish professional football to achieve the highest attendance figures in its history.

The record also reflects the efforts being made by clubs to adapt and improve their infrastructure, creating more modern, accessible environments that are better equipped to meet the evolving demands of fans. This transformation process is enhancing the supporter experience while strengthening the connection that has traditionally characterised clubs and their fan bases.

The evolution of attendance and average attendance figures highlights the strength of Spanish professional football and the consolidation of stadiums as increasingly attractive spaces for social gathering and entertainment. LALIGA views this new milestone as evidence of the shared commitment between clubs and fans to continue strengthening a competition that keeps growing both on and off the pitch.
