from September 15, 2026（Tue）～November, 23, 2026（Mon, national holiday）

In November 2026, the Sumida Hokusai Museum celebrates its tenth anniversary. Since opening in 2016 in Katsushika Hokusai’s birth area, our museum has introduced a great range of works by Hokusai and his students through exhibitions with diverse themes, sharing their fascination with a broad audience.

To celebrate our tenth anniversary, we are pleased to present See the SUMIDA HOKUSAI MUSEUM’s Best—The Scenery on Both Banks of the Sumida River Picture Scroll and Other Masterpieces―. This special exhibition showcases not only works that have been featured in past exhibitions, but also newly acquired pieces and works never displayed to the public. Each masterpiece has been carefully selected from our collection by our curators, reflecting their individual perspectives and expertise. In addition, each curator introduces one of their personal favorites with a brief comment, offering visitors a unique insight into the collection. We hope you will enjoy discovering the many charms of Hokusai and his students, while making new discoveries of your own.

Term	1st term：Sep. 15 (Tue)～Oct. 18 (Sun) 2nd term：Oct. 21 (Wed)～Nov. 23 (Mon, N.H.)
Closed	Mondays except for Sep. 21, Oct. 12 and Nov. 23. (all national holidays). Sep. 24 (Thu), Oct. 13 (Tue). The Special Exhibition will be closed on October 20 for exhibition changeover.
Venue	The 3rd and 4th floor Exhibition Room in The Sumida Hokusai Museum
Hours	9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. (Last admission: 5:00 p.m.)

Admission	Adults ¥1,500, 65 and over ¥1,000, Highschool/University students ¥1,000, Middle school students ¥500, Visitors with disabilities ¥500, Children in primary school and younger: Free

●Identification card is necessary to purchase tickets at a discount rate.

●Visitors with disability certificate and one accompanying person may enter at the discounted rate for visitors with disabilities.
