JAL Hotels Co., Ltd. (hereinafter JHC) has announced that China's UnionPay Card is now accepted at all of its 36 domestic hotels, including 15 newly added hotels, and at their restaurants as part of the company's business plan for fiscal 2012, which started on April 1, focusing on the Chinese traveler market.

In an effort to invite more Chinese guests with improved services, JHC has created websites in both simplified Chinese (http://www1.jalhotels.com/cn/) and traditional Chinese (http://www1.jalhotels.com/tc/) in addition to the existing Japanese, English and Korean websites. Moreover, JHC and Okura Hotels & Resorts (hereinafter OHR), which became a JHC partner brand in September 2010, has prepared a joint hotel directory in simplified Chinese.

JHC hotels in Japan accommodated guests from China in about 77,000 rooms in fiscal 2010. With Chinese demand for tourism in Japan expected to grow further, JHC is focusing on the Chinese customer market as one of the key business objectives in fiscal 2012.

In June 2012, JHC and OHR will jointly host a workshop in Shanghai for the staff of Chinese travel agents, distributing a sales manual describing the chain hotels in detail in simplified Chinese to help them lure packaged tour travelers to Japan for stay at JHC hotels.

China is also high on the agenda in the two hotel chains' plan to set up new hotels. With two new hotels to be opened in 2013, the total number of their hotels in the China region, including Taiwan, will increase to 15. The two hotel chains will provide their customers to one another between China and Japan, taking advantage of the hotel networks they have in the two countries.

Given the need for better services for Chinese guests, the importance of which has further increased in the course of business between the two countries, JHC has decided to accept the UnionPay Card.

The JHC hotels will continue to improve user friendliness for Chinese customers, providing them with new, attractive products and services.
