Free Fukuoka Travel Guide for S. Korean Tourists Published

The Nishinippon Shimbun Co., Ltd., a daily newspaper publisher headquartered in the city of Fukuoka, issued a Korean-language travel guide on Fukuoka titled "GOOD MORNING FUKUOKA!" in July to meet the surge in tourists from South Korea to Japan's Kyushu region.

A total of 30,000 copies are distributed free of charge at around 50 locations including Hakata Port International Terminal, Fukuoka Airport International Terminal, Fukuoka City Tourist Information Center (Hakata Station, Tenjin), and hotels in the city. (Some of them are set to be delivered to Gimhae International Airport and Busan Port International Passenger Terminal also in South Korea.)

Focused on making travel in Fukuoka "more comfortable," "smoother" and "more reasonable," the publication (A5 size, 38 pages, in color) provides South Korean tourists with valuable information which would help them find new attractions.

Besides some basic information like a map of the city, the guide includes special features such as "You can have regional cuisine from across Japan at Hakata Station," "Cafes with breathtaking views at Hakata Station," "Gourmet foods at basement food floors of three major department stores in Tenjin," and "Taking a walk in Yakuin, a fashionable town for grown-ups." In 2013, the travel publication is set to be issued biannually in July and October.
