YANAGIYA HONTEN CO., LTD., which marks the 400th anniversary of its foundation this year, decided to use up-and-coming actress Umika Kawashima as the new face of its hair oil brand "YANAGIYA Apricot Oil."

"YANAGIYA Apricot Oil," which was launched in 2008 with a spirit of going back to the company's roots, is a non-drying oil extracted from apricot seeds, and moisturizes and protects hair. Since its launch, its non-sticky and light finish and mild scent of apricot have won broad support from women, mainly in their 20s and 30s.

YANAGIYA has decided to sign up with Umika Kawashima as the poster girl for "YANAGIYA Apricot Oil" because of her cute and pure image which correspond to women's desire for beautiful hair, as long supported by "YANAGIYA Apricot Oil."

About Umika Kawashima

The actress appeared in movies and TV dramas. She received the newcomer prize at the Tokyo Drama Awards in 2009. She not only performs as an actress but also  emcees a regular TV program. She is also a member of the idol group 9nine. The group made its overseas debut in Hong Kong in 2013.
