Vivescia Malteurop (Yancheng) Malt Co., Ltd. recently opened its doors in Xingqiao Town, Sheyang County, Yancheng City. This marks the completion of the acquisition and integration of the former Sheyang Chunlei Malt Co., Ltd. by Malteurop, a subsidiary of France's VIVESCIA Group. The time-honoured malt manufacturer, which has operated in Xingqiao Town for nearly two decades, now bears the brand identity of a global industry leader.

Malteurop is a world-leading malt producer under VIVESCIA, one of France's largest grain cooperative groups and Western Europe's top malting barley supplier. It runs 21 production facilities across 13 countries worldwide, with a total annual capacity exceeding 2.2 million tonnes. This acquisition in Sheyang fills the East China gap in its production and logistics network across China.

The two sides held the acquisition cooperation and unveiling ceremony on 13 July this year. Malteurop acquired an 80% equity stake in the target company. Ranked as Jiangsu Province's largest project by paid-in foreign investment so far this year, the enterprise was subsequently renamed Vivescia Malteurop (Yancheng) Malt Co., Ltd.

The company has a combined annual production capacity of 220,000 tonnes. It operates two fully stainless-steel conventional malt lines of 40,000 tonnes each, alongside one 150,000-tonne intelligent high-end tower malt production line. The tower line adopts multiple globally pioneering clean smart manufacturing processes and incorporates advanced technologies including magnetic-suspension steeping, slip-ring power supply and ring-free drainage. Its drying stage features China's first rice-husk biomass-fired steam drying process, which achieves near-zero carbon emissions and holds SGS Carbon Neutrality Certification.

Following the opening, the company will continue to ramp up additional investment for equipment renewal, technological transformation and high-quality capacity expansion. It will leverage the spillover and driving effect of an industry leader to advance quality upgrading across the full "barley-malt-beer" industrial chain, blazing a trail characterised by sustained foreign investment, industrial upgrading and win-win outcomes for both the enterprise and local authorities.
