TOKYO -- Waseda University released the "WHY WASEDA?" video, created for prospective students overseas to get familiar with Waseda University and Japan as a whole. In 3.5 minutes, the video covers why Tokyo is an ideal place to study, what makes Waseda University special as a global institution, and the exciting activities available on campus.
The video starts off with an easygoing tune and showing famous spots in Tokyo, including Asakusa and Shibuya. It describes Tokyo's vibrant, yet comfortable city life, leading in art, culture and industry, and relating to the friendly people and extremely high personal safety. After mentioning rankings data and the wide offering of English-degree programs, the focus of shifts to Waseda University and its international atmosphere. The camera walks through campus, greeting international students from countries such as Tunisia, the United States, and Taiwan. The video ends with images of students sharing activities like Judo.
The video follows the "WHY WASEDA?" website (www.waseda.jp/inst/whywaseda/) launched in 2015, which describes the features of the university and the city in 13 languages.
